1974 NASCAR International Stock Car Racing Rule Book
Definition of Terms

The following definitions and abbreviations used herein are defined as follows:

1. "NASCAR" -- National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, Inc.

2. "NASCAR Headquarters" -- The principal office of NASCAR located at Daytona Beach, Florida, P. O. Box K, Daytona Beach, Florida 32015.

3. "Special Events" -- (1) Team Events, (2) Sectional, State and National Championships, (3) Combination Programs, or (4) a Feature Event which is run over a greater distance and for a larger purse than is customarily presented at the track in question in its established weekly programs.

4. "NASCAR Rules" -- The laws and regulations governing the sanctioning and conduct of NASCAR sanctioned events which are published annually in the NASCAR Rule Book which rules may from time to time be amended by NASCAR by publication of the NASCAR Bulletin issued by NASCAR Headquarters.

5. "NASCAR official in Charge of the event"--The senior NASCAR official assigned by NASCAR to officiate an event.

6. "Event" -- A NASCAR sanctioned motorsports event, which includes the designated race as well as all time trials, qualifying races, practice runs, and rain or postponed dates as related thereto.

7. "Suspension"--Loss of NASCAR membership and/or license indefinitely or for a definite period of time.

8. "Disqualification"--To make a driver or car ineligible from participating in an event or from further participating in an event or from receiving credit for an official finishing position, with the attending loss of prize monies and points for that event and possible fine and suspension.
