1976 NASCAR International Stock Car Racing Rule Book NASCAR Grand National ® Championship Division Section 20-22 -- Glass

a. Full windshield and rear window in good condition compulsory. Rear window must be permanently closed. No plastic covering. External fastenings on rear window and windshield required. Plastic glass allowed in rear window only, but must be same thickness as original glass, and must be secured with 2 steel straps not less than 1/8" x 1" bolted to glass.

b. All side window glass must be removed. No glass or plastic permitted in side window openings at any time.

c. A NASCAR approved nylon window mesh screen must be installed in the driver side window opening at all tracks. Minimum 16 x 18 inches. (Diagram back of Rule Book).

d. Windshield washers must be of standard production size and type. No hand pumps. No pressure systems.

e. Headlight lenses and seal beams must be removed and holes covered with flat sheet metal and original headlight and rear light rims must be used. Headlight covers cannot be located forward of the original seal beam location.

f. Rear view mirror cannot extend outside the car.
