1974 NASCAR International Stock Car Racing Rule Book NASCAR Grand National Championship Division Section 20-20 -- Bumpers

a. Cars must be equipped with complete set of bumpers for make and model and must be in top quality condition. Recommended bumper ends should be bolted to fenders as a safety factor.

b. Front bumper -- all bumper and lower pan openings must be covered with wire screen mesh only.

c. Bumpers must be chrome plated. Painted bumpers not permitted unless standard production for make and model.

d. Bumpers on 1974 model race cars may be installed closer to body as long as original bumper fits fender indentations. Specific bumper location for all 1974 models will be established by NASCAR.

e. Openings in rear bumper must be covered with flat metal.
