1974 NASCAR International Stock Car Racing Rule Book Late Model Sportsman Division Section 20B-39 -- Safety

a. All cars are subject to a safety inspection.

b. It shall be the responsibility of the race driver to see that his car has been thoroughly inspected before he is allowed to participate or take part in practice warmups [sic]. (The driver of any race car going onto race track before car is released by the technical inspector or the chief steward is subject to fine or loss of points earned in previous events or both).
