1974 NASCAR International Stock Car Racing Rule Book Modified Division Section 20C-13 -- Axle

a. Locked rears allowed. Floating axles with special hubs permitted. Full floating rear axles compulsory on all tracks. Quick change center sections allowed.

b. No restrictions on axles, shocks, springs, etc., providing ground clearance and height of body not altered. Shock absorbers, by visual reference, must remain within the outline of the body and no holes can be cut in the outer body for the mounting of shocks.

NOTE: Rear axle housings must be simlar to original passenger car design and must be a continuous housing from center section to mounting brackets at safety hub and backing plates.
