a. Bodies must be in good condition and must be free of rust. b. Bodies must be neat appearing. c. Inside door panels must be removed for the proper installation of roll bars. d. Floors must be complete in driver's compartment and floor must be of steel. e. Fire wall separating driver from engine compartment must be of steel, and fire wall can be no further back than lower area below windshield opening. f. Bodies must have standard stock corner post at windshield opening and the corner post must follow original configuration. g. A steel fire wall no less than 20 gauge thickness must separate driver from fuel tank. h. All fire walls must welded and sealed on top, bottom and sides. i. All bodies must be installed on frame in approved manner. Positively no rake permitted, and body must follow frame line in all respects. j. No car will be allowed to compete with excessive body damage. (Excessive body damage to be determined by NASCAR official.) k. All doors must be bolted or welded shut with approved type metal fasteners. No leather straps, ropes, chains or wires allowed. (See diagrams in rear of Rule Book). l. On early models, at least the top part of hood is compulsory which must be equipped with an efficient and safe fastener. Hood must cover cowl and top part of radiator with openings only for air cleaner and radiator cap.
