1974 NASCAR International Stock Car Racing Rule Book Modified Division Section 20C-28 -- Fire Control

a. Race cars in all divisions of NASCAR must have an approved fire extinguisher securely mounted in reach of driver.

b. Onboard NASCAR approved fire extinguishers recommended.

c. It is recommended that at all times drivers wear driving suits of fire resistant material that effectively covers the body from neck to ankles and wrists.
