Section 20C-29 -- Identification

a. Officially assigned numbers at least eighteen inches high must be neatly painted on both sides of car, and in 36-inch high numerals on the top, reading from driver's side. Engine displacement and car weight must be painted in 3-inch numerals on right rear side of the hood. Driver's name must be painted in 3-inch letters above the right door.

b. Drivers will not receive points unless car owner's registration number corresponds with number on car. Drivers will not receive points if unauthorized numbers are used.

c. Modified cars will be registered by numbers on a state basis only. All numbers will be assigned from NASCAR Headquarters.

d. No solid black or dark blue paint jobs will be permitted -- All dark colored cars must have a contrasting light colored top.

e. All decals or adhesive-backed emblems supplied by manufacturers for advertising or identification on race cars are limited in size to the area of a 32 square inch rectangle. Only decals of participating manufacturers will be permitted. Car sponsors' or owners' names are limited to six (6) inches in height. Slogans will not be permitted. Decal sizes will be determined by multiplying the full width and full length of any decal, regardless of the decal shape. NASCAR reserves the right to assign or restrict the display of decals, identification and advertising on race cars.
