Section 20C-31 -- Additional Race Safety Procedures

a. No left rear tires will be changed while car is being gassed.

b. The back window opening must be covered while the car is being gassed.

c. Cars with filler neck on the left side must cover the wheel while being gassed.

d. Anyone removing a deck lid to fuel the car during a race will be disqualified.

e. Anyone going on to the track with loose lug bolts will be penalized one lap during the running of the race.

f. When the hood, fenders and the frontal grille area has been deleted from the original body configuration, it is recommended this be replaced with a one piece front nose section. When this nose section is constructed of a fiberglass or metal material it must be installed in an approved manner.

(1) Hood must have positive Grand National type fasteners, right side, left side and center. Also two Grand National type fasteners right side and left side at trailing edge of hood. The lower side of hood must be securely fastened with Duzus fasteners of aircraft quality, spaced not more than twenty inches apart.

(2) Hood pins must have approved rubber bumpers located between locking nut of hood pin and the bottom side of hood.

(3) Pin attaching locations in hood must be reinforced top side and bottom side with a metal plate of 2 1/2 inches in diameter and not less than .020 thickness permanently fastened to hood.

(4) A fire-flash shield must be installed at air cleaner area of hood when using fiberglass front nose section. This shield must be metal not less than .020 in thickness.

(5) The air intake at radiator must maintain a minimum size of 24 inches in width and a minimum of 10 inches in height to allow proper cooling.

(6) Front bumper must be mounted to frame.
