a. Original dimensions of all bodies must remain as manufactured, except for changes which may be necessary for tire clearance. No lowering of body or frame. b. All cars must have complete bodies, hoods, fenders and bumpers and grilles in top quality condition. No aluminum, light alloys or fiberglass will be permitted as substitutes for steel for any parts of the bodies or bumpers. No homemade grilles permitted. Aluminum and fiberglass trim parts may be approved as replacement parts for die cast parts, but must be approved by the NASCAR Technical Director. c. Cars must be neat appearing. Head lining and door trim pads must be removed and top panel must be painted. Inside door panel and quarter panels must remain standard, except for approved alterations for roll bar installation. Doors and quarter panels must be covered with aluminum. d. Floors must be complete and in standard position except for tire inspection; no funnels or air ducts. Engine fire wall must remain standard. Spare tire well may be removed but hole must be covered with metal and welded. e. No car will be allowed to run more than two consecutive racemeets [sic] minus any fenders lost in previous competition. f. All doors must be bolted or welded shut with approved type metal fasteners. No leather straps, ropes, chains or wires allowed. (See diagram rear of Rule Book). g. Steel floors must be complete in entire car, and must be welded and not pop-riveted. h. When original trunk floor has been removed, it must be replaced with not less than 16 gauge steel and must extend outside frame rails. Must be bolted to frame and quarter panels. i. All bodies must be installed on frame in approved manner. j. 1962 thru 1970 intermediate bodies permitted on older model frames. Wheelbase must conform to manufacturer's listed specifications on wheelbase for year, make and model of body being used. k. No cutting to lighten body. l. No fiberglass or aluminum allowed. m. Upholstery or smooth metal must be on door panel on driver's side. n. All doors must be fastened in an approved manner. Doors must be bolted with not less than 3/8 inch bolts. (See rear of Rule Book for approved method for bolting doors.) o. No tunnels or air ducts allowed. p. Front and rear fenders may be altered for tire clearance only. Full fenders mandatory; no homemade fenders. q. Complete hood is required. Cannot be altered from standard appearance. r. Hood must close in original position. Holes may only be bored for cooling in area from leading edge of hood to 5 inches back of leading edge, not to exceed 1/2 inch in diameter. s. Hood must have positive fasteners, right side, left side and center. Also two positive pin fasteners on back of hood when hood hinges have been removed. Grand National type pin fasteners only. t. Trunk lid must be in operating condition. A non-adjustable spoiler not exceeding 3 inches in height may be attached to trailing edge of trunk lid only. A front spoiler non-adjusting may also be attached to front underside of car. This optional non-adjustable spoiler must be installed a minimum of three inches behind the trailing edge of front bumper and must not extend the leading edge, past the trailing edge of front bumper, and must not extend over two inches below lowest point of frontal area. Spoiler cannot extend beyond center lines of front frame rails and must have a ground clearance of 4 inches, and must be NASCAR approved. u. Grand National type fasteners right side and left side of trunk. v. All cars must have full floors and fire walls of steel. All sheet metal flooring must be welded and not pop-riveted.
