the N@50 project - Winged Warriors
By Jan Kohl

In conjunction with, IWCCCARS is proud to present the Winged Warriors for The Pits and Simulator Cyberworld's N@50 patch...many people have been waiting YEARS for a chance to drive the Plymouth SuperBird and Dodge Daytona...and many thought they would never see them again. But they're back and better than ever in this recreation of the NASCAR warriors from the late '60s and early '70s.

Jim Kerekes and Wes Hurd provided the artistic skill necessary to do all nineteen cars in the set. Ken Noffsinger of provided historical data and photos.

Below is a special gallery presented on in conjunction with this release of the Winged Warriors - a photo exhibition with exclusive photos of Richard Petty's SuperBird...that never got to race.

the real 'bird
Unfortunately, this SuperBird was never actually driven by Petty in a NASCAR event (at least not as a SuperBird), but it none-the-less serves as a fairly faithful reproduction of the ones that were. It was built a few years after the SuperBirds and Daytonas were outlawed from NASCAR competition as a project car showing all of the things that could have been done to the SuperBird had it been allowed to continue in competition.
